Troubleshooting steps →
Connect your Stripe account
- Open Revenue Peek and select Create a restricted key.
- In Stripe, confirm the key is named Revenue Peek and has Balance: Read permission only.
- Create the key, copy it, and return to Revenue Peek.
- Paste the key, choose your three-letter settlement currency, and select Connect.
Your key should begin with rk_live_ or rk_test_. Enter it only in the Revenue Peek app.
Add a widget
Mac
Right-click the desktop, select Edit Widgets, search for Revenue Peek, and add the small or medium widget.
iPhone and iPad
Touch and hold the Home Screen, choose to add a widget, search for Revenue Peek, select a size, and place it on your Home Screen.
Refresh your total
Revenue Peek requests background updates periodically, but Apple controls the exact timing.
Open the app and choose Save & refresh whenever you need an immediate update.
A failed refresh keeps your last successful total visible.
Set up another device
Stripe credentials and settings do not sync between devices. Install Revenue Peek through
your universal purchase, then enter a restricted key independently on the new device.
Troubleshooting
The key was rejected
Confirm that you copied the complete restricted key and that it has not been revoked in Stripe.
Balance read access is required
Edit or replace the restricted key so it has Balance read permission. No write permission is needed.
The widget has not changed yet
Open Revenue Peek, save and refresh, then allow a short time for the operating system to redraw the widget.

How earnings are calculated
Revenue Peek summarizes supported Stripe balance transactions for one settlement currency and time window. Here’s what the total means.
Net earnings
Net earnings start with supported payment activity and include the associated Stripe fees,
refunds, failed refunds, disputes, dispute reversals, standalone fees, partial-capture
reversals, and platform-earning refunds that occur within the selected window.
Gross payments
Gross payments add payment amounts in Stripe’s charge, partial-capture reversal, and
platform-earning reporting categories before fees and refunds are applied.
What is excluded
Payouts, transfers, top-ups, reserves, and unrelated balance movements are excluded.
Taxes included in payment amounts are not deducted separately.
Refunds and disputes
Revenue Peek places activity in the window when the balance transaction occurs. A refund
for an older payment is therefore deducted when that refund occurs within the selected
window, rather than when the original payment was made.
Time windows
- Today begins at midnight in the device’s local time zone.
- Past 7 days is a rolling period of seven 24-hour days.
- Past 30 days is a rolling period of thirty 24-hour days.
- This month begins on the first day of the local calendar month.
Currencies
Transactions are filtered to the settlement currency selected in Revenue Peek. Different
currencies are never converted or added together. A currency with no activity displays zero.
Why Stripe reports may differ
Revenue Peek is a focused payment-activity metric. It is not your bank balance, available
Stripe balance, payout amount, tax report, or accounting profit. Differences in reporting
category, settlement currency, time zone, or date boundary can produce a different total
from another Stripe report.
Need help reconciling a total?
Compare the same settlement currency and exact time boundaries first. If something still
looks wrong, contact support with your app version and a description
of the discrepancy. Never send your API key or unredacted transaction data.
